AICL-TC Licence: Conditional Training (Attribution Required)
1. Operational summary
Quick read You can use our content for AI, but only if you credit the source.
You may:
- Use our content as training data.
- Commercialise the resulting models.
Subject to the following mandatory conditions:
- Maintain provenance: Any system using a model trained with our data must be able to display ‘Source: SAS Example’ or a link to the original article when the generated content is substantially based on our data.
- Include citation metadata in the training dataset.
You may not:
- Use the content to train ‘black box’ models that never cite their sources.

2.1 Additional definitions
- ‘Verifiable Provenance’: The technical ability of the Generative Model or the application using it to provide the end user with an explicit reference (URL link, publisher name) to the Work when it has served as the primary basis for the generated response.
2.2 Conditional Grant of Rights We grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Work as AI Training Data, subject to strict compliance with the following condition:
- You must associate the Work with attribution metadata (Name: Example SAS, Source URL) in any dataset created.
- The final Generative Model or commercial service using it must return this attribution (Verifiable Provenance) to the end user whenever technically possible and relevant.
2.3 Violation of conditions Any use of the Work for AI training that does not comply with the Verifiable Provenance obligation constitutes infringement and will result in the immediate termination of this licence.
(Sections 2.3 Scientific Research, 2.4 Duration and 2.5 Contact are identical to the previous model).
